Some years ago I joined the fire service as a retained fireman to serve the community in which I live.  I joined Strathclyde Fire Brigade when fighting fires was our prime objective.  Time has moved on and now as a firefighter in Strathclyde Fire and Rescue our equipment and roles has expanded dramatically.  Our training now encompasses road traffic collisions, water rescue, working at heights (a sort of abseiling), trauma care, community visits and firefighting. 

Over the years I have seen the hours and effort put in by the local police and ambulance crews attending our shouts and we feel that Key-Lets should recognise such dedication and give an emergency service discount to landlords in the fire, police and ambulance services.
