Tenants - Frequent Questions

What is the policy over pets?

Most Landlords prefer not to allow pets within their properties.  In any event permission is required as part of the lease for a pet to be accepted by the Landlord during the term of your tenancy.  Prior notification of pets is strongly advised so that the Landlord’s permission can be sought.

If the Landlord gives permission for animals within the property then the tenant/s take full responsibility for any damage caused by your pet.  Moreover you will be required to supply a receipt from an established carpet dry cleaning company to show that all the carpets within the property have been professionally cleaned.  This is to show subsequent tenants, who may have pet allergies, that their interests have been considered.

 Pets in rural properties

If the property you intend to rent is in a rural location or is attached to a working farm then tenants are to take particular care regarding the dangers of farm machinery, animals and all other associated farm materials and effects. Please ensure that you and your family, pets and visitors be fully aware of these dangers.

Dogs or other pets found worrying sheep are liable to be shot on sight.
