Tenants - Frequent Questions

Who is responsible for the Utilities?

The Utilities of a property are Gas, Electricity, Water, Council tax (and in some cases heating oil or LPG). The cost of these services is the responsibility of the tenants and starts on the commencement of the tenancy agreement and ends on the last date of your tenancy agreement.

How do I make sure I only pay for the utilities I have used?

Meter readings are taken on the day that you move into the property and when you vacate the property.  You will not be responsible for bills relating to before your tenancy even if demands are sent to the house. We suggest that you return these bills to Key-Lets for resolution.

Can I change the utility company supplying my property?

You are required to notify Key-Lets in writing if you wish to change your utility supplier.  Failure to notify a change of supply could result in delaying the return of your surety deposit.
